Roman Fresco Fragment

A Roman polychrome painted fresco fragment depicting a female figure painted in flesh coloured tones, standing on her toes with her left leg forward, her diaphonous drapery thinly covering her lower body and billowing out behind, her right arm extended and holding a thyrsus, her left raised and supporting a pottery vessel on her shoulder, against a black painted ground, the ochre foliate groundline with a crimson and white panel containing a green foliate motif below, the top of the scene with a decorative squared panel containing an ox skull, with foliate garlands suspended from the corners. Mounted on a wooden frame.
