  • Given to Paul Alexandre, Paris, Paul Alexandre was Modigliani’s most important early patron. Modigliani painted five portraits of him and gave him several hundred drawings
  • By descent to Paul Alexandre’s grandchildren who asked Richard Nathanson to sell (private advisor in Impressonist & 20th century art), Belgium
  • Acquired at Caroline Wiseman Modern and Contemporary (on behalf of R. Nathanson), London, 11th December 2008
