Samnite Bronze Trefoil-plate Cuirass

Identical breast and back ‘triple-disc’ plates and four side plates. Believed to be an abstract representation of the pectoral and abdominal muscles. This is curved slightly to fit over the body. Lining holes at regular intervals along the perimeter, and a riveted loop on the sides and at each shoulder for fastening the side and shoulders plates. Decorated with embossed bumps.
