Urnfield Culture Bronze Sword

With a leaf-shaped blade, which was designed to achieve maximum strength out of the material while still affording balance and cutting/thrusting ability. The edges have been hardened by hammering, in order to create a stronger cutting edge. The hilt, cast together with the blade, is perforated with a series of seven hales to accommodate rivets for the attachment of a handle, probably originally of wood.
