Mouse is crouched, long ears pricked up, holding in its clutched paws a bunch of grapes (?), of which rabbits and hares were particularly fond of on Roman and Late Antique mosaic pavements and in architectural sculpture. Skin is rendered by small striations all over body. Of the tail, all that is left is a hole.
