Inv. n°: MMoCA659
Etruscan Bronze Reclining Lion
Depicted recumbent, front paws outstretched with a neat circular mane incised at the edge and crowned by rounded ears framing his head that is tuned to face us. The open mouth reveals the tongue lolling over the lower jaw and the rims of the prominent eyes are slightly raised. The long body, with incised indications of the ribs, narrows towards the haunches where the tail curls up to rest between the bent back legs.
