Roman Lead-Glaze Scyphuys with Ivy Leaves
Set on a foot modelled in two degrees and with a fillet encircling the short stem. The ring handles have elaborate thumb-pieces, based on a hatched trunk, from which spring an outer trefoil and a pair of volutes, terminating in small rosettes: spurs below. The bowl is moulded with sprays of ivy stemming from the drapes at handles, a flower head above where they meet.
