Roman Terracotta Oil Lamp showing a Gladiator Helmet

The helmet, crested and visored with two small eyeholes, is the type worn by either a ‘Secutor’ or ‘Provocator’ gladiator. The potter's mark "MS" inscribed on the reverse.
