Etruscan Pair of Large Hoops for Coiffures

The hoops are finely hammered, slightly tapering and with collar rims that are decorated with applied loops of finest gold thread that alternate with bands with an ear-of-grain-shaped pattern. The broader collar has two rows of loops and a thick twisted gold wire at the rim. Such hoops are also interpreted as stands for glass alabastron. However, it is more probable that they were used in coiffures.
