Vollard Suite no. 45. Sculpteur et Modèle Admirant une tête

Signed. Edition of 250.

h. 44 x w. 34 cm

1933

Etching

Provenance

  • From Galerie Louise Leiris, Paris, Directed by Daniel Henri Kahnweiller who represented Picasso for many years. Kahnweiler, the erstwhile owner of the Gallery, did not publish the Vollard Suite and the bulk of these were bought by the Art dealer Petiet after the early death of Vollard. It was suggested that Kahnweiler was successful in buying directly from Petiet so there is a direct link back to Vollard himself.
  • Niall Fairhead from Images gallery purchased this from Kahnweiler
  • Acquired at Caroline Wiseman Modern and Contemporary, London, 16th August 2008
